Strandzha song wealth is distinctive and full of beauty and wisdom. Melodious songs are sung, rhythmic chain-dances are played. The songs and games are an undivided part of life. Till nowadays are preserved precious models of horo and usual, harvest and working-bee songs. The so called ‘table’ songs required a high vocal technique and singer’s skill.

“Filek” songs sang during the spring youths’ games are the most interesting and melodious. They replaced the chain-dances because they are forbidden in these 40 days before Easter.

The melody structure of the Strandzha songs gives the feeling of antiquity and originality.

Peculiar folk instruments in Strandzha region are the bagpipe and the sherherd's pipe (khaval) and the drum.

Among the famous names in the Bulgarian folklore are: Urga Pesheva, Magda Pushkarova, Sava Popsavov, Manol Mihailov. All of them are loved and proud of.
