Amongst the wild and enchanting nature of Strandzha Mountain many unique monuments of the cultural-historical heritage from Thracians and Romans are preserved. It is of a great interest to visit one of the most imposing tombs from the ages of the domination of Romans in Thracian region /III - II c. BC/. It is preserved till nowadays and it is situated in the countryside ‘Mishkova Niva’ – 3 km away from the town of Malko Tarnovo.

The religious building had been a megalith monument for worship at first, but later it is established as a sacred room, devoted to the God Apollonius. There the ancient inhabitants had performed their rituals and rituals dedicated to the God of the Sun. Probably the tomb had been used as a mausoleum of a noble Thracian ruler from V – III century BC.

As you walk around you will discover that the sanctuary is a part of a larger complex that consists of a fortress, mines, a mound necropolis, propped buildings and urban remains. All this testifies for the orphic belief and the ancient spiritual heritage in the South-Eastern Europe.

This complex is only a tiny part of the Thracian cultural heritage of Bulgaria, which you could acquaint with in the picturesque and hospitable area of Strandzha.
